How to calculate different stock indices
The calculation is divided into 3 forms as follows:
1. Capitalization-weighted stock index : Capitalization-weighted Index

Market Cap = Stock Price x Total Number of Shares
2. Price-weighted stock index : Price-weighted Index

Share A price 5 baht = (5/(3 share prices combined = 40)) x 100 = 12.5%
Share B price 10 baht = (10/(3 share prices combined = 40)) x 100 = 25%
Share C price 20 baht = (20/(3 share prices combined = 40)) x 100 = 50%
The calculations show that Stock C has the largest share in Index A.
3. Equal-weighted Stock Index : Equal-weighted Index
