4 steps to prepare artwork files!

1. Adjust page settings

Normally, business cards come in three standard sizes: 9 x 5.5 cm / 9 x 5 cm / 8.5 x 5.5 cm. It's up to us how we choose to design and use them. Therefore, we must make a selection and enter the adjustment process.

- Enter the File menu to create a new file, name it My Business Cards.

- Select the page to work on (front-back) by changing to number 2 in the Number of Artboards menu.

- Adjust the Spacing value to 2 cm.

- Select Unit value as Centimeters.

- Adjusted the Bleed value to 0.3.

- Select Color Mode as CMYK, which is the standard setting of the printer.

2. Adjust the Bleed side value.

When we print out work, there may be printing errors. Can be tilted In order not to affect the content of our work. We had to set the side of the paper so that there was space 0.3 cm away from our actual work, causing time errors. Will not hit the safe zone with contents inside. But the empty part will be hit instead. Total size will be 9.6 x 6.1 cm.

- Adjust the Rectangle value in the left bar to be 8.4 x 4.9 cm (actual size - the space we reserved is 0.3 cm).

- Select Align on the right bar, click Align to : Artboard.

- Right click in the center of the business card. Check with the Make Guides menu.

3.Create Outline

- Select the image that we did not embed with the file, click the Embed menu and make Clipping Mask.

- Press Shift and drag across all text and select Create Outlines.

4. Save the file

It is recommended to save multiple files. Format for use in case of emergency So that you don't have to waste time running back and forth to make corrections.

- Select the File menu, Save as, select the folder in which to save the Format as a PDF file.

- Adobe PDF files, set to Adobe present by [High Quality Print] Standard : PDF-X1a 2001

- General file, select Optimize for Fast Web View and View PDF after Saving.

- Select to enable Trim Mark, Registration Mark and Use Document Bleed Settings.
